REHABILITATION

What expertise does the Leukerbad Clinic have in the field of rehabilitation?

The Leukerbad Clinic has been renowned since 1961 as a cutting-edge medical centre dedicated to rehabilitation of the locomotor system, particularly after an operation or trauma, as well as in cases of chronic, degenerative or inflammatory diseases. The doctor and the multidisciplinary team prepare a personalised programme including treatments and therapies adapted to each patient. In this way, the different rehabilitation programmes help to restore optimal mobility on a daily basis.

Are stays and treatments at the Leukerbad Clinic covered by insurance companies?

The Leukerbad Clinic can offer rehabilitation programmes to all patients who have mandatory health insurance cover with a Swiss insurer. The conditions stipulated by health insurers for the acceptance of cover are as follows:

  • The doctor must submit a request for hospitalisation to our admissions department. For resident patients, our service will then deal with payment guarantee formalities. You will find the necessary form in our media library.
  • The patient’s stay is confirmed as soon as the insurer guarantees insurance cover in writing.

What is the difference between outpatient treatment and residential treatment?

During a residential rehabilitation programme the patient is accommodated at the Clinic. All costs are covered by the health insurance.

In the case of outpatient rehabilitation, treatment costs only are covered by health insurance. The patient is then generally accommodated outside the Clinic. The Clinic has independent rooms and studio apartments. Prices are available on request to the accommodation service.
